Closing Day

September 14th, 2009 -- what a big day for us -- we officially closed on our first home!! We were official residents of Beaver Dam. Who would have ever thought that would happen?

Graham was now only three minutes from his new office and Jen was beginning her new adventure as a small business owner. That meant the first big project -- finishing the walk up attic into her very own studio!

Although we promised ourselves we would work on only one project and one room at a time, we soon found that we were going to have to make some very, very minor updates (mainly painting) to make the bathroom and kitchen a little easier on the eyes!

The first night was very interesting....we got just a couple hours of sleep as all the new noises kept us up. Our cat was also completely freaked out -- he actually crawled under the covers in our bed (which he NEVER does) and slept right up close to Jen's legs.


He also did not want to come down the stairs after Jen had carried him up there -- he was terrified of the living room at the bottom of the staircase (we had to lock him in this empty room while we moved boxes in and therefore, he hated the room and its lovely green carpet!).
