Day 1

Today is the day!  It is officially the first day of our kitchen remodel {week long} extravaganza!  Although we have been working on the kitchen for quite awhile already, this is the week we would {like to} finish.  Remember the goal?  To be done by Easter so that I can cook a ham in our new oven.  I have a feeling we will be to the point of ham-cooking ability, so we will, but we will probably have some detail work to finish up {which I am more than okay with…just as long as I do not have to brush my teeth out of the bathtub any longer}.

I will give myself a pass now and say that I may, or may not, be posting updates during this next week.  I do have some Invites by Jen orders still to finish up {shame on me, I know}, so I plan on doing those each morning while Graham does goat chores.  Then, we will be hitting the remodel hard until bedtime!  If I have some extra time any given morning while Graham tends to the herd {I am not going to lie, I chuckled as I wrote that….what an eclectic life we lead}, I will most certainly post some updates.  But, if you just simply…cannot…wait to see how the kitchen is going, we do offer pizza, beer, and a {somewhat} warm place to sleep to any helpers {remember, our heat is turned off because we had to take out the cast iron heater in the bathroom}!

In honor of Day 1, I thought I would share some of the candids I have captured over the past couple week’s worth of work!

We didn’t even take the price tags off the sheets we bought {to cover the doorways with} at Goodwill

Our “kitchen”….it has gotten much worse in there since I took this picture…imagine our fridge and stove and bathroom vanity added to this mess

We are spending a pretty penny on cleaning supplies!

Graham:  “Jen, can you get me the staple gun?”  Jen:  “Sure.  Oh wait, that is just the outline from where the staple gun WAS sitting….”

The pantry became our breakroom one Sunday morning
