The big morning had arrived on Day 4 of the trip…..May 27th, 2013, the day Adam and Bri were married!
The family met at the Haleakala National Park and hung out a bit until we all took a quick hike to the spot where the ceremony itself would be held.
{Graham trying to find the spot where we needed to hike to}
{the groom and officiate waiting for everyone to arrive}
{Graham’s family with the newlyweds; as you can see, they had the girls wear purple dresses and the guys wore purple polos}
{while the photographer was busy with the bride and groom, we decided to snap a few fun pictures}
{it was a very pretty backdrop for a wedding!}
After the ceremony, the bride and groom had a picnic lunch prepared for us {the wedding was at 10 am}.
{we even got a bouquet toss in!}
After the wedding, our family headed back up the road to Hana in search of Lahaina where Graham and I would stay the rest of our trip!
The trip back up the road to Hana went quick. We didn’t stop to sightsee and Graham was a little more “confident” with the twists, turns, and oncoming traffic…which inevitably lead me to taking a few car sickness meds {and I do not normally get car sickness}! But, we made it all the way from the Haleakala National Park to Lahaina in just three hours {even the guide book said the traveling distance, with no stops, would take longer..so yes, it was quick}!
Graham’s sister was riding with us on the way back, and since we arrived in Lahaina about an hour ahead of the other car {because they made a couple stops}, she came with us to check into our hotel. Based on a map, I thought we would be able to simply walk down our beach to the other car’s hotel. That was not the case….but, at least we got to have a nice stroll down the beach!
And here is your Day 5 sneak peek – it includes Jen’s first adventure in snorkeling and an authentic luau!
