For those of you that landed on this page in search of famous boy-band memorabilia, you should move on. There are, however, new “kids” on our block!
A week or so ago (when we had that last final snowfall of the year), Jen was walking up to the studio to start her day, when she peered out the window to find an oddly amusing surprise.
What is that on the roof of the neighbor’s house? It is indeed a duck! Yes, he found his way up to the rooftop to hang out for the morning after the startling snow fell the night before.
Jen quickly yelled for Graham to bring the camera that was sitting next to him downstairs. His response was “Well, this better be good” (keep in mind he was responding to having to run up two flights of stairs before he had his morning coffee). When he saw the reason for the sudden commotion, he agreed a picture was necessary.
Welcome to the neighborhood, friend!
Once we were done giggling (well, once Jen was done giggling….Graham had ventured back downstairs to finish his morning coffee before leaving for work), the day went on as any other.
That was until Jen received a phone call from Graham almost immediately after he left for work. He said he saw our friend meet up with another duck and fly away! We couldn’t believe it, a pair of love ducks.
For the next couple of days, there were multiple references to the ducks (or how one of us needed to be more like the ducks).
But then, we saw them again in a different neighbor’s backyard. Our friends were back!
Since then, we have seen them multiple times pecking away at the ground in all of the neighbors’ yards that share a big open area behind our house (no more rooftop sightings, however).
Just yesterday, Jen spotted them hiding under the protection of a tree in the yard.
Until we meet again, friends!
