Operation Leaves

It is only Saturday, but there has been quite a bit done around West Street for the weekend!  Mom and Tammy came to visit and part of the plan was to tackle the leaves in the backyard, the overgrown bushes in the front, and prepare the yard for winter!  We thought it would take literally all day on Friday from the looks of things, but we ended up rocking it out and sitting down with Jimmy John's to celebrate around 11:30!

The day started off a little slow for Jen and Tam (Mom was ready to go around 5:30......we didn't really start until about 8:30).

still trying to get going for the morning

Mom worked on pruning/trimming the bushes out front while Tam and Jen worked on raking the leaves in the back.  We then all worked together on the multiple flower beds in the backyard (which, because Jen and Graham neglected this area last year, had just as many leaves/foliage to clean up as the yard itself).

The transformation to the yard (front and back) was amazing!  Mom promised Jen that the bushes she chopped down in the front would grow back (but this time would not be half dead, overgrown, and mishapen), we used "power tools", and we all felt very proud of the work we women did all by ourselves!

Mom and Tammy even mowed the lawn when we were done!
